Lace Making in the Summer Olympics Closing
Ok - just watching the closing ceremonies and I was in fact... making lace. So I look up and lo and behold it was surreal to see the dance number celebrating bobbin lace making with a huge pillow with pins in it and a 'dancing' lace doily on the floor plus dozens of ladies in large lace patterns. AMAZING!
You might be able to see it when the live stream opens on the official you tube channel if you missed it live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPBHNJVDH60

I'm in the middle of making lace, too, so this is sooooo cool! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you were a lacemaker too! That's great! My pillow is empty right now as I'm trying to get in some stitching time. I tend to foucus on one hobby or the other for a few weeks depending on my mood.
ReplyDeletenow I wish I'd watched the closing ceremonies! I prefer French lace types (have Chantilly and Lille patterns on my pillows currently), but this is quite lovely! Thanks for focusing on this!
ReplyDeleteI was making lace when I saw this also!
