We were in the high 60s last weekend, but are in the deep freeze this weekend, with snow due on Sunday night/Monday, so I won't suggest a move to the South, but it isn't as bad as you're dealing with. Makes me so grateful I left New England some 37 years ago! The worst thing I experienced was the ice formed after an overnight refreeze; the walk to the bus/train station became a bit treacherous. Where I live in NZ we don't get snow; well, I seem to recall one fall during a very cold winter, but the snow melted as soon as it hit the ground.

I hope you survive OK and don't end up needing an ark. If I could I would send a little sunshine your way.Irenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13631335417709055896noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426331239878441437.post-47874899323977252052015-02-13T14:19:34.848-05:002015-02-13T14:19:34.848-05:00Trisha-I hate to tell you that we have had NO snow...Trisha-I hate to tell you that we have had NO snow this year. Last year we had only a few inches that melted right away. Not enough for a decent snowman. And spring has already started. The primroses and tulips are above ground. Today is in the 50's. I mean fallen snow, not drifts or piles...our driveway is lined with smoot sized piles...I guess after Sunday, you'll be over gronk level. Seriously, I've got to admire you and all the Bostoners for how well you're coping with the current mess. We're okay down here in CT - cold today, but okay. Your tales make me feel really grateful for our mere inch of ice buildup on the sidewalk and the 3 feet on the ground. My only complaint is when I have to shovel snow (fling it) higher than my head. And I guess our stubborn icicle/ice dam involved with our wall leak is not really so impressive after all - however, I'm going to go out and check to see if the siding is starting to buckle - your tale of peeling paint has put the fear in me...:)kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07141470585422320595noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4426331239878441437.post-9528884034006124722015-02-13T12:45:32.187-05:002015-02-13T12:45:32.187-05:00Things are a little better for us down in Rhode Is...Things are a little better for us down in Rhode Island, but since my husband's sons and daughters-in-law live in Boston and Canton, we shovel ourselves out and then go help them.
